Wire Mesh Knitted Products WHAT A MIST EXTRACTOR DOES Mist extraction is a property of coalescence. The process stream flows through the mesh pad and impacts on the knitted, crimped wire surfaces in the pad. Entrained liquids are coalesced as they continuously impact the wire surface. The collected droplets coalesce into larger droplets and forces due to gravity cause the liquid to flow through the wires, and eventually to fall free from the bottom of the mesh pad. These droplets are too large for the gas velocity to carry the liquid particles back into the mesh pad.
